Advice and answers from the TryHackMe Team

Workspace

Compete & collaborate with people from your organisation

Updated at March 4th, 2022

What is a TryHackMe Workspace?

Workspace is a way to compete and collaborate with people from your organization. Using your work or school email, you can join your organisation's workspace, where you can complete challenges as a team and work towards the top of your workspace's leaderboard!

Create or join your workspace

How does it work?

Workspace works on your email's domain extension. If your email is [email protected], you will join a workspace for everyone with the exact same domain as you; variations of a domain will have separate workspaces, to combine workspaces with different emails, see sections below.

You can only join with a school or work email; it won't work with public emails such as gmail and hotmail. You can change your email on TryHackMe to a work/school one on your account settings page.

How do I join a Workspace?

If your organization's workspace hasn't been created yet, you'll be asked to enter its name as the first one joining it. Names are not tied to workspaces, and multiple workspaces can have the same name; workspaces function from your email extension only.

To join or create any workspace, you need to verify your email on TryHackMe.

Once you've joined a workspace, you can't leave or swap (yet). Changing your email will keep you in the workspace, but you'll be unable to view your organization's workspace page.

Combining Workspaces

If your email extension is example.com, you will join a different workspace than someone with uk.example.com. If you're part of our business or education plans, you can combine workspaces (e.g. merging uk.example.com and example.com into a single workspace) by emailing TryHackMe's support.
